Our purpose
We were tired of reading about ourselves in other people's reports.
BGM Briefing exists because the evidence about Black and minoritised communities in the justice system is plentiful, and the places it gets discussed are closed. We film those conversations, write them up in plain English, and publish the whole thing where anyone can use it.
01
Evidence on the record
Sourced claims, published submissions, data by ward, nothing you have to take on trust.
02
Power in the room
Commissioners, chairs and mayors answering to the community that lives with the decision.
03
Useful the same week
Briefings written so a caseworker, a councillor or a funder can act on them immediately.
How we keep it honest
The editorial group signs off every episode and can stop one. No funder sits on the group. No sponsor sees copy before publication. Corrections go at the top of the page, not the bottom.
